Chicken with peppers was probably the best Chinese dish I have ever had. Cooked fresh and delicious. The general Tao lunch special was tasty and almost had a homemade feel. Over mall the best Chinese I’ve had in Lower Wisconsin or Northern Illinois.
We got the hot pot and it was SO GOOD. They have a lot on the menu where all can enjoy. Definitely recommend going here.
Perfect location in the heart of Madison's "Shopping District." There was a street festival going on yet we were the only ones inside. (Which may be why the service was so fast but I digress.) Huge menu, everyone should be able to find something they like whether they're picky or looking to try something new. Did have to walk a block or so and pay for metered parking, which was worth it to experience the community of Madison. Loved it.
Stopped by here for a quick bite. The service was really fast and we were greeted and seated almost immediately. The place has nothing special to it decor-wise. Wouldn't say it's a fancy place or anything. Most of the other patrons seemed to be college students. I was there with some old college friends and family. Great atmosphere to just catch up over food. The menu seemed to have more authentic Chinese food rather than focus on the Americanized things like Crab ragoons and orange chicken. They had bull frogs, duck, and other options. Very nice selection. And very fairly priced. I had the Mongolian beef. We also got country style pork and beef fried rice. All were generously portioned enough to share. The food tasted great and I will definitely be going back. Overall If you're looking for good Chinese food location, this is a great spot. Beware their food isn't exactly like the typical Chinese-American restaurant (but they do have those options too). Not a place that would impress a date on the first night. But definitely would be great to go with friends. Only down side was we never got water refills.
Great service and hot pot experience with friends. We booked a table for 14 and service was very accommodating since we made reservations. Half of our guest had never had hot pot before, but became big fans by the end of the night. We got the pots that were half spicy and half not spicy. The spicy soup is Asian spicy but should be expected when the restaurant is named after Sichuan. The non spicy soup is still flavorful and good. Sauces are provided in a buffet style table to the side with green onions, oyster sauce, sesame sauce, chili oil and more. We got a beef and pork order with udon noodles for our soups. Everything tasted great and the overall experience was great with wonderful friends and shabu shabu.
My cousin recommended this restaurant and I’m so glad I took her recommendation. We got delivery, had the green beans, spicy lotus, twice cooked pork and Sichuan beef. Everything was extraordinarily tasty!!
Taste of Sichuan is a great Asian restaurant in Madison, especially if you enjoy bold, spicy flavors. They offer a wide range of vegetarian options, many of which are well-suited to Asian taste buds. The food is flavorful and satisfying, making it a solid choice for anyone craving authentic Sichuan-style dishes. I’ve visited the place twice and both times I went with a large group. They easily accommodated us with big tables, and I didn’t even need to make a reservation. So it’s a good option for group dining as well. Overall, highly recommended for those looking for a spicy and authentic Asian food experience in Madison.
Fast, hot, and full of flavor. Definitely worth a drive to State Street. The service was fast and efficient, and unlike most restaurants, the waitresses don't bother you every second. It has a wonderful atmosphere, and the interior is just beautiful.
